      In Yekaterinburg, deep cracks appeared in the courtyard of a high-rise building due to neighboring construction today at 13:06. Residents of a 26-story building in Pionersky noticed that their ground was starting to collapse. Cracks spread throughout the yard near the high-rise on Raevskogo, 4, and are only widening.

      — During the construction of the neighboring building, a pit was dug, and the adjacent courtyard began to deteriorate: cracks appeared, and now it's affecting the children’s playground. We are genuinely afraid for our lives, — said a resident of the Raevskogo house to E1.RU.

      Those living in the high-rise fear to speculate about what will happen to their relatively new building, which is only 10 years old.

      — The developer claims that everything is under control. However, the cracks are getting bigger day by day. What if the ground collapses along with the house into the excavation? — added another resident.

      The management company "Territory-North" sent letters to the administration, the governor, the Department of State Construction and Housing Oversight, the Prosecutor’s Office, and other authorities.

      Director of the management company Evgeny Beryozkin noted that they have not yet received any responses from the supervisory bodies. In his opinion, the situation can already be considered an emergency.

      — I still doubt that there is a threat to the Raevskogo 4 building itself, but the threat to the underground utilities is quite real. Water and electricity are not supplied just like that, — believes the director of the management company.

      The developer’s company responded as follows:

      — Work is being carried out in accordance with the permitting documents. If a causal relationship is established between the construction activities and the damage to the infrastructure, it will be restored in full.

      It was previously reported that the Yekaterinburg mayor’s office had ceased cooperation with a major road contractor.
