Now, there will be very few such kiosks with useful little things and fresh press. City residents are outraged:
— My children love Rostecha; it sells so many trinkets and things interesting to them.
— And where will I buy crosswords, scanwords, coloring books, children's magazines, and other small pleasures? People no longer care about their opinions.
— It’s convenient to buy various work books, student IDs, ID badges, and, of course, scanwords for mom there.
— In Rostecha, you could buy an "E-Card," which students used to access school.
— I always buy newspapers. Where can I buy them now? They’ve gone completely crazy! The newspaper kiosks are to blame!
— I don’t understand why the mayor’s office is so fixated on these kiosks and stops. There are no other problems in the city—only demolishing kiosks and changing numbers on public transport.
— And how many people have lost their jobs? Women, grandmothers of pensionable and pre-pension age worked there. They have nowhere to go now, — said the E1.RU portal, reflecting Yekaterinburg residents’ opinions.
Currently, the demolition of kiosks in the city appears quite selective. For example, at the Tokary stop (by Krauly, toward the city center), a proper waiting complex was removed, but a terrible shawarma kiosk was left. Probably an official one.
The TYUZ theater is now on Izoplit Street: in Yekaterinburg, old kiosks from other streets are being replaced at the sites of demolished stops.
Regarding the issue: the mass demolition of stops in Yekaterinburg has been called “vandalism.”
“Ordinary reshuffle”: Yekaterinburg residents expressed their opinions on the mass demolition of kiosks on city streets.
Deputies called to stop the uncontrolled demolition of stops in Yekaterinburg.
"Streets of demolished stops." The Yekaterinburg mayor Orlov was subjected to negative PR.
A cemetery of dismantled kiosks was discovered in Vtuizgorodok.
Yekaterinburg Mayor Alexey Orlov instructed district heads to stop dismantling shelters at stops during kiosk demolitions.
Yekaterinburg will have only 75 kiosks citywide.
