A woman, an employee of "Russian Post" in Yekaterinburg, contacted the Uralweb.ru portal editorial office. The Sverdlovsk resident reported that only she and one colleague remain on her route (although he is currently on vacation). As a result, her workload has increased sixfold!
— We physically cannot deliver mail every day to absolutely everyone as we used to. Now people receive their newspapers, at best, once a week, or even less frequently. Elderly women come to our branch themselves, complaining that they no longer have to wait for mail carriers. And we can’t burst at the seams either. Now, we have to cover 32 km a day! That’s to deliver mail to everyone. And this is every day. The entire circulation of newspapers arrives at the branch regularly, but in the end, it just sits unused. There is no one to deliver it, — one of the mail carriers told us.
We asked the press service of "Russian Post" to comment on the situation. As soon as we receive a response, we will publish it.
