Today at 10:52, the Yekaterinburg Court recognized the dismissal of a 23-year-old barista as illegal, requiring a well-known coffee chain to pay over 150,000 rubles for labor rights violations. The young man explained that he was dismissed because of a few words.
He clarified that he swore but not in front of a customer. An personal conflict was not liked by management, so they decided to fire the young man.
— There were reasons why I swore; they were justified. After that, I was told to come and resign myself. I refused. Then I was told I didn't pass the probation period. But there was no talk of a probation period, — said the Yekaterinburg resident to E1.RU.
The barista appealed to the labor inspectorate. The company told him they would provide the necessary materials in court, but after five months, the employer had not sent any videos or contested the facts of unpaid wages.
— I won the court case, but I was not reinstated. They changed the grounds for my dismissal, forcing them to pay all due wages, — noted the young man.
The owner of the coffee chain did not comment on this incident.
