today at 17:02 At the Sverdlovsk Veterans Hospital, a complex surgery was performed to restore the skull of an officer who received a serious injury in the SVO zone. It is reported that the soldier was caught in an artillery attack.
— The mine-explosive head injury of the officer involved the destruction of more than 90% of the frontal, temporal, and parietal bones of the skull, as well as the frontal sinuses and nasal bones. The soldier managed to survive thanks to prompt evacuation, staged treatment, and high-tech medical assistance, — said the Sverdlovsk Region Ministry of Health.
Once the officer's condition stabilized, he was transferred to the Sverdlovsk Veterans Hospital. Here, specialists performed 3D modeling of his skull, recreated a virtual prototype of the anatomical shape, and then made a personalized tantalum-titanium plate precisely matching the volume and contour of the destroyed area.
Currently, the hero’s health has stabilized, positive progress is observed, and the man has been included in an early rehabilitation program.
