Media: A resident of Yekaterinburg swallowed an endoscope 51 times to help acquaintances dodge the army

      Today at 11:11, Yekaterinburg resident Evgeny K. (name changed) helped dozens of Sverdlovsk conscripts avoid military service. The young man conducted examinations for them for money, despite having a serious illness, reports URA.RU. It ended with him tired of living in constant fear and he himself came to the investigators.

      As Evgeny told URA.RU, the first time he "swallowed a scope" for an acquaintance was in 2021. The person, knowing that Evgeny had an ulcer, asked him to undergo a fibrogastroduodenoscopy on his behalf. After receiving a "white ticket," the one who dodged started recommending Evgeny to his acquaintances. The doctors conducting the FGDS did not check the young man’s passport.

      The "perpetual patient" swallowed the tube for his "clients" in different hospitals dozens of times. Before that, he intentionally triggered an exacerbation by consuming fast food with spicy additives. Afterwards, he had to seek treatment every time.

      He was forced to appear before the Investigative Committee under threats from those he had once helped dodge. Clients, including those with bats, began demanding their money back, realizing that Evgeny had no legitimate legal protections.

      "I understood that I would be held responsible for aiding under Article 328 of the RF Criminal Code ('Evading military service' — ed.). But it’s better than suffering, living in fear, and being anxious that they will come for me again. It’s better to sit, serve the sentence, and start a new life from a clean slate," the young man explained to URA.RU.

      Since then, he has filed 51 reports against absentees for whom he underwent examinations. But the vast majority of his appeals received no response. According to Evgeny, only one case has gone to court at the Verh-Isetsky district of Yekaterinburg.

      “I brought all the information on a silver platter, but nothing further happens,” he says. Judging by the reaction of the investigators, his confession turned out to be of no interest to anyone.
