The prosecutor's office in Sverdlovsk region has begun an investigation into the charging of fees for photography and excursions in Yekaterinburg's arboretums. Announcements of commercial services appeared on July 11 in two parks—on Pervomayskaya Street and March 8.

The reason for the inspection was a request from State Duma deputy Andrey Alshevsky. The regional prosecutor's office confirmed that the issue is under review, and the results of the investigation will be announced within the established timeframe.
Paid services in the arboretums became available after a major reconstruction, which is still ongoing. However, the innovations caused discontent among residents, especially pensioners. They fear this is the first step towards full commercialization of the green zones.
Speaker of Yekaterinburg City Duma Anna Guraryi also joined the effort to resolve the issue. She sent a request to the head of the arboretums, Natalia Zmeyeva, demanding explanations regarding the situation.
