
A former associate professor at the EMERCOM institute in Yekaterinburg was convicted of bribery.
The Kirov District Court of Yekaterinburg sentenced a former lecturer of the Ural Institute of the Ministry of Emergency Situations to seven years in prison. According to the court press service, he was found guilty of accepting a bribe of 600,000 rubles.
The court found that the former associate professor at the university collected money in exchange for ready-made course projects, guarantees of successful defenses, and positive grades. A fourth-year student of the same institute collected the money for the former lecturer.
The former associate professor will serve the sentence in a high-security penal colony. He is also banned from teaching for three years, reports the EAN publication.
Earlier, industry representatives suspected the head of the Sverdlovsk Region's tourism department of corruption.
