      Residents of Verkhne-Makarovo in the Chkalovsky District were glad this summer about the repair of the road leading to their village. But with the onset of autumn the newly laid asphalt suddenly began to deteriorate.

      "The contractors worked from July to mid-August, from Gorny Shchit to the village of Verkhne-Makarovo. But the road shoulders were never built up, and turning off on the stretch is now impossible. The most surprising thing is that part of the new surface has cracked. Two weeks ago the cracks were a couple of centimeters wide; now you can fit your whole palm in them!" a local resident complained to the E1.RU portal.

      The highway is located within the limits of Yekaterinburg and has regional status. The Sverdlovsk Region Road Management is responsible for its maintenance. They reported that the repairs were carried out by the company UralDorTechnologies.

      "The repair of the section from 0 to 16 km was carried out under a state contract that was concluded following competitive procedures. The cause of the pavement defects is being determined," the Sverdlovsk Region Road Management clarified.

      Road workers stressed that the contractor will correct all the deficiencies. It may be necessary to replace the asphalt again.

      Earlier it was reported that repair work on an important bridge on the Chelyabinsk Tract will begin.
