17 October 2025. Activist Alexey Danilin, on the air of the OTV channel, suggested renaming maternal capital to "family" capital and also stopping payments for the first child.
— I am against both maternal and paternal capitals. It destroys the family. It should be "family" capital, no other way, — Danilin said.
According to him, payments should be granted only for the second and subsequent children. He conceded, however, that if people have children for the money, that would still be better than if there were no children at all.
Earlier in Russia it was proposed to introduce a 0% mortgage for large families.
