By December 1, the municipal public transport fleets in the Sverdlovsk Region will be replenished with 209 modern buses. This was reported by the region's governor, Denis Pasler, who noted that the Ministry of Transport of Russia had approved the region's corresponding application.
The largest share of the vehicles will go to Yekaterinburg — 150 buses will arrive in the Ural capital, 20 of which are large-class. The first 36 vehicles already arrived in the city this week. The new buses are being handed over to carriers under leasing agreements.
"Our goal is to renew 85% of all public transport in the region's agglomerations and cities by 2030 so that residents use modern and comfortable buses, trams and trolleybuses. This year, 52 buses have already been renewed at the expense of the regional and municipal budgets. Yekaterinburg has also purchased 15 trams, 50 trolleybuses, 15 articulated buses and 15 large-class buses," Denis Pasler said on his social media.
It should be recalled that in Yekaterinburg the fare for public transport will increase by 9 roubles as of November 1. As explained by the mayor's office, the increase is related, among other things, to the program for renewing the city's fleet of buses, trams and trolleybuses.
