Students at a Yekaterinburg college were threatened with expulsion for refusing to install MAX
In Yekaterinburg, students at the Polzunov College were threatened with expulsion for refusing to install the MAX messenger.
One student told the E1.RU portal that a meeting was held in their group. Those who did not want to join the new social network were forced to write applications for voluntary expulsion. The head of one of the college’s departments collected all the applications and gave them until Monday. The text of the application was written on the board in the classroom.
“I categorically refuse to install the platform — the MAX messenger — to receive official information about the organization of the educational process, despite the order from the Russian Ministry of Education. This fact indicates that I have no relation to the educational process in which I study. I ask to be expelled from the college at my own request,” E1.RU quotes the text of the application.
The director of the Polzunov College was unable to comment on the situation. The Department of Information Policy of the Sverdlovsk Region said the following:
“Moving internal communications with students to ‘Sferum’ of the national messenger MAX is voluntary. Due to interruptions in the operation of other platforms, students are advised to connect to the secure messenger. A student's lack of the messenger is not grounds for expulsion. The college administration is conducting an inquiry into the actions of the teaching staff and the authenticity of the video recording,” the department noted.
Earlier we reported how scammers forced a Sverdlovsk pensioner to sell her apartment. She communicated with them through MAX.
