A woman from Yekaterinburg was made over on Channel One's 'Modny Prigovor'.
Yekaterinburg resident Valentina Paramonova became a participant on the show "Fashion Verdict" on Channel One to find her clothing style. This was reported by Tagilcity.ru.
She turned to Russian designers Lilia Rakh and Alexander Rogov for help overcoming an entrenched image tied to a traumatic experience. The episode with Valentina Paramonova aired on October 29.
The woman shared her story with the hosts, reports Channel One. As a result of an accident—a gas explosion in a garage—when she was 15 she suffered burns to 15% of her skin, including her face, neck and hands. Despite this, she graduated from a prestigious school with honors, got married, and had a daughter and a son. Valentina is now divorced.
The injury has had a significant impact on her self-image and clothing choices. Because of it she uses a lot of makeup and still feels uncomfortable wearing revealing outfits. Her relatives say her wardrobe is dominated by frivolous motifs that do not befit her status.
At the same time, she understands that her current appearance is at odds with her position in a large company. The Yekaterinburg native works as a lead design engineer in the gas industry.
According to the participant, she still does not own a single formal business suit, except for this conservative dress. It was that dress that fashion expert Evelina Khromchenko complimented.
"Valentina is 48 years old, but despite her age and prestigious position, she still hasn't grown up. After the severe injury her wardrobe is all floral dresses! But she dreams of meeting a worthy man and starting a family, and therefore asks the stylists for a fashionable transformation," reads the program synopsis.
