A Ural deputy's Moscow apartment is being seized.
Chelyabinsk city council deputy Alexander Galkin is having an apartment in Moscow seized. The relevant information appeared in the database of the Central District Court of Chelyabinsk.
"Defendant: Galkin Alexander Nikolaevich. Disputes related to property rights: on the transfer of movable and immovable property to state revenue as part of the measures," Ura.Ru quotes the text from the court database.
In the case the deputy's wife, Inna Miroshkina, is listed as a defendant. The deputy's relatives and Dmitry Larin, who previously sat in the regional parliament, appear as third parties to the suit.
Galkin clarified that questions arose for him after his income declaration was examined. Allegedly the prosecutor's office has doubts about the legality of the transaction for the purchase of the apartment in Moscow.
"I have provided information about the acquisition of the property through a family mortgage and partly using loans from private individuals. The prosecutor's office has raised questions about the legality of the origin of funds of my lenders. For example, I borrowed from my brother, who during the inspection was serving in the special military operation and could not participate in the inspection or provide documents. The prosecutor's office has interpreted this not in my favor and not in my brother's favor. All evidence will be presented in court," the deputy commented.
Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense transferred 63 apartments belonging to the Ural ex-governor and his family.
