A man from Perm who had been missing for more than two years was found alive in Yekaterinburg. This was reported by KP‑Yekaterinburg.

Twenty‑seven‑year‑old Artur Mekhanoshin, a resident of Kudymkar, went to Yekaterinburg for work back in 2022. He wanted to save money to buy an apartment. Together with his friend Konstantin, it was not the first time he had gone to work on a rotational basis.

The man worked in construction, but in July 2023 he suddenly disappeared. Earlier, while speaking with her son via video call, his mother noticed that he had lost a lot of weight. When Artur went missing, she was convinced he had been enslaved.

Eight months later, in March 2024, Artur reportedly turned up, but after being photographed at the police station he did not return home in Kudymkar. The address he gave to the police, at which he supposedly lived, turned out to be fictitious.

Artur only got in touch with his family yesterday, November 9. "Hi. I want to go home," he wrote to his mother. Later he said he had gotten into trouble. "They forcibly took me to a workhouse, took my documents and phone, and beat me," Alla Zubakhina relayed her son's words.

"A missing‑person report was filed by his relatives. Police officers located the man, who explained that he had no claims against anyone and that no unlawful actions had been committed against him," the communications department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for Yekaterinburg told KP‑Yekaterinburg.
