The expert said which mistakes tourists most often make at the airport.

A trip should start with a pleasant mood, not with chaos at the airport. Travel industry expert and director of the tour company "Elita Travel" Natalia Oborina revealed the five most common mistakes passengers make that turn security into a stressful procedure. According to her, passengers often make the same mistakes that can be easily prevented:

      — Arriving at the airport too late. The optimal time is two hours before departure. Even if you have to spend an extra half hour in the waiting area, you'll still have plenty of time to get through all the checks.

      — Skipping online check-in. If that option is available, it's better to check in in advance. At the check-in desk you'll only need to drop off your luggage, which saves time.

      — Trying to bring prohibited items through security. This includes water and alcohol bought before screening. Breaking the rules often leads to conflicts with staff.

      — Removing belts, watches and jewelry only at the screening. Preparing in advance speeds up the process and doesn't hold up the line.

      — Carrying your passport in a cover. Airport staff will still ask you to remove it, which again slows down the security process.

Experienced travelers, in Oborina's view, can also take inspiration from the film Up in the Air starring George Clooney, in which the protagonist demonstrates how to pass through checks without unnecessary hurry and stress.
