Two young women were killed yesterday in a traffic accident at the 11th kilometer of the Verkhnyaya Pyshma–Nevyansk highway.
According to preliminary data, the driver of a KIA chose a speed that did not correspond to the weather and road conditions, lost control of the vehicle and skidded, crossing into the oncoming lane, where it collided with a LIAZ passenger bus operating on route No. 103 “Yekaterinburg–Kedrovoe.”
At the time of the accident, the bus, in addition to the 42-year-old driver, was carrying 10 passengers. As a result of the collision, two 23-year-old women — the driver and a passenger of the car — were killed.
Both died at the scene from their injuries. They were wearing seat belts at the time of the collision.
The condition of the car’s driver at the time of the crash will be determined by the results of an ordered chemical-toxicological examination.
The people on the bus were not injured.
Traffic inspectors found that the KIA was driven by a resident of Yekaterinburg with one year’s driving experience. She had not previously been held administratively liable. The other deceased was a resident of the settlement of Krasny Aduy.
