According to Novy Den, it is proposed to reduce the current "alcohol window" by five hours at once: three hours less in the evening and two hours less in the morning. Under the draft, the sale of alcoholic products would be permitted from 10:00 to 20:00, whereas at present they can be sold from 08:00 to 23:00.
In addition, it is proposed to introduce a ban on the sale of alcohol during extended holiday periods — for example, during the May holidays or the New Year holidays. According to agency sources, if the tightening is approved, it will come into force no earlier than the second half of next year.
