Residents of the building in Pervouralsk, where a gas explosion occurred the day before, are being relocated to a temporary accommodation center.
As a result of a gas–air mixture blast that occurred the day before in Pervouralsk, the owner of the apartment in which the incident took place was injured, the Sverdlovsk Region prosecutor’s office reported.
The injured person is a woman born in 1972. Initially two other residents of the building sought medical attention, but, according to available information, they did not require hospitalization.
A report of a domestic gas blast in one of the apartments on the third floor of a four-story building on Ilyich Street in Pervouralsk was received by the unified dispatch service on Sunday, January 4 at around 3:50 p.m.
“At present, residents of the building are being relocated to a temporary accommodation center. Specialists will assess the stability of the building’s structures after the incident. The supervisory authority will check compliance with the housing rights of the building’s residents,” the agency’s statement said.
The regional office of the Investigative Committee of Russia has opened a criminal case under Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (performing work or providing services that do not meet safety requirements for consumers’ life and health). Various versions of what happened are being considered. The exact cause will be determined by the results of a fire-technical examination.
