      The Ural Transport Prosecutor’s Office has referred a criminal case concerning preparation for a terrorist act on the Sverdlovsk Railway to court, the press service of the supervisory authority reports.

      The indictment has been approved against a minor resident of Tyumen Region. He is accused under Part 1 of Article 30 and paragraph “a” of Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (preparation for a terrorist act).

      “According to the investigation, in December 2024 the accused, at the behest of foreign intelligence services, acting as part of an organized group and with the aim of setting fire to equipment used for the control, regulation and ensuring of the safety of railway transport, surveyed the planned crime scene — one of the stations of the Sverdlovsk Railway, established the presence of relay cabinets, video cameras and protective fences. He sent photographs of the situation via an instant messaging application to the organizer of the crime,” the Ural Transport Prosecutor’s Office reports.

      The accused’s criminal actions were thwarted by law enforcement officers.

      The criminal case has been sent to the Central District Military Court for trial on the merits. The materials of the criminal case concerning an accomplice have been separated into a separate proceeding.
