Earlier, a man contacted the police, reporting the theft of over one million rubles from him. The scammers informed him that money was being transferred from his account, so it was necessary to immediately secure his savings. The victim withdrew 1,096,000 from his account and handed it over to an unfamiliar woman.
Investigators found and questioned the woman. She admitted that she had posted an advertisement on one of the websites seeking additional income. She noted that she was raising a 1.5-year-old child alone, so she was short on money. Soon, she was contacted by "representatives of a company" that needed a courier. Her duties included picking up cash and documents at specific addresses and transferring them through a crypto exchange to accounts. For one working day, she was promised 5,000 rubles plus 0.2% of the amount.
The suspect reviewed the company's website, which she was offered to work for, and looked at reviews of its activities. Finding nothing suspicious, she agreed. According to her, she had picked up cash from pensioners at least six times. On March 25, she was detained. The woman claimed that she was confident in the legality of her "work."
A criminal case has been initiated against her under the article "Fraud on a particularly large scale." In addition to her debts, the suspect will have to compensate the victims who fell prey to the fraudulent actions involving her participation.
