Yekaterinburg residents complain about the condition of the asphalt at the interchange near "Kalina."

      The construction of the interchange near the Kalina concern is causing many additional problems for pedestrians. This is all due to the trench, construction machinery, debris, and building materials.

      Thus, roadworks on Komsomolskaya Street have complicated pedestrian movement. Nearby the under-construction interchange are the Multifunctional Center, a branch of the Russian Post, pharmacies, and the Koryfei Gymnasium. To access these places, one has to overcome an "obstacle course."

      — Pedestrian passages are marked with barriers, and ramps are being installed as materials are delivered. They are being filled with cuttings and screenings. In the near future, the passages will be more comfortable, Ura.Ru was told by the Capital Construction Department.

      Recall that in mid-November 2025, it became known that additional funds would be allocated from the Sverdlovsk region budget for the construction of the overpass. Initially, the estimate was 6.3 billion rubles, which reached 8.3 billion by early 2025 and increased to 8.85 billion in the fall. Later, Yekaterinburg Mayor Alexey Orlov stated that the cost of reconstructing the transport interchange at the Kalina concern had risen to 9 billion rubles.

Additionally, it was reported that the administration extended the contract until the fall of 2027. The deadlines for the project's completion have been postponed several times—the interchange was initially planned to be opened by the 300th anniversary of Yekaterinburg in 2023.
