A resident of Sverdlovsk sued a company for not being able to access Elbrus.
In Yekaterinburg, the court granted a tourist's lawsuit against the company Kavkaz.RF due to a non-functioning lift on Elbrus.
According to the case materials, the man purchased a ticket costing 2185 rubles for the ascent to the "Garabashi" station (at an altitude of 4500 meters). However, upon reaching the "Mir" station, he was unable to continue his journey as the lift was closed. Moreover, he was not informed about the impossibility of further ascent either at the time of purchase or when activating the ticket.
Upon returning to Yekaterinburg, the traveler filed a lawsuit demanding a refund for the service. Company representatives argued that information about the lift's closure was allegedly posted on the resort's Telegram channel.
The court established that the consumer was not timely provided with the necessary information about the service, which deprived him of the opportunity to refuse it in advance. As a result, the magistrate of judicial district No. 2 of the Railway District of Yekaterinburg ruled to fully grant the lawsuit.
From Kavkaz.RF, the cost of the ticket, compensation for moral damages in the amount of 2,000 rubles, as well as a fine for refusing to voluntarily satisfy the consumer's demands, were recovered.
