In the Sverdlovsk region, the conscription into the army has begun under new rules.

      In the Sverdlovsk region, the spring conscription campaign has begun. It should be noted that conscription is now conducted throughout the year. In 2026, more than 55 thousand people are planned to be sent to military service. The key changes were reported by Vitaly Malakhov, head of the organizational and mobilization department of the Central Military District headquarters.

      According to him, the decision on conscription now applies across the entire territory of Russia for a year from the moment it is made. If a citizen has already been drafted but has not been sent to the place of service, they will not need to undergo a medical examination again.

      A new feature has also been introduced: the conscription commission can make a decision on granting a deferment or exemption from service without the citizen's personal presence at the military enlistment office.

      The procedure for sending recruits remains the same—it takes place twice a year: from April 1 to June 15 and from October 1 to December 31. It is expected that the first conscripts will begin to be sent to their places of service as early as April 10.
