The mayor of the Sverdlovsk city has introduced a special regime.
In the village of Baronskaya near Nizhny Tagil, a state of heightened readiness has been introduced due to flooding. The decision was made by the city's mayor, Vladislav Pinaev.
The cause was the situation at the Visim Dam: on April 4, water discharge began, resulting in the Mezhovaya Utka River overflowing its banks and flooding Zarechnaya Street. The water has come close to private plots.
Rescue workers from the Population Protection Center, emergency services staff, and specialists from the Chusovaya River Nature Park are working on-site. With the help of an airboat, they managed to partially break the blockage, and the water level is gradually decreasing.
The villagers refused evacuation; however, if necessary, authorities are ready to quickly set up a temporary accommodation point. Emergency services have been transferred to an enhanced operational mode.
