The former Sverdlovsk Deputy Minister of Housing and Utilities will now work at UrFU.
Former Deputy Minister of Energy and Housing and Utilities of the Sverdlovsk Region Valery Fadeev has been appointed Deputy Director of the Campus Development Directorate of UrFU Dmitry Tolmachev. This information was confirmed by the university to "Signal Ural." According to sources, Fadeev is considered a promising manager with potential for career growth.
It is unofficially reported that with successful work, he may take the position of Vice-Rector for General Affairs, replacing Pavel Mezentsev. Previously, he oversaw projects for the construction of new dormitories and the UrFU swimming pool.
Fadeev worked in the regional government for less than a year: in May 2025, he became Deputy Minister, replacing Andrey Kislytsin, and supervised the implementation of state programs in the housing and utilities sector. It is also noted that he is the husband of the Deputy Head of Yekaterinburg - the head of the administration's office, Marina Fadeeva.
It was previously reported that former rector Viktor Koksharov lost his position as president of UrFU.
