During the major renovation of the Musorgsky Conservatory dormitory in Yekaterinburg, 1.5 million rubles were stolen.
A criminal case regarding the embezzlement of over 1.5 million rubles of budget funds allocated for the capital repair of the dormitory building of the conservatory has been initiated in Yekaterinburg based on materials from the prosecutor's office, the press service of the regional supervisory agency reported on Friday.
The prosecutor's office of the Lenin district of Yekaterinburg checked the compliance with legislation on the contractual system in the activities of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education "Ural Conservatory named after M.P. Mussorgsky." During the supervisory activities, it was established that in March 2024, a state contract was concluded between the Federal State Budgetary Institution and LLC "Uroven" for the performance of work on the capital repair of the dormitory building.
According to the acceptance report for the completed work dated September 30, 2024, the repair was completed by the contractor for an amount exceeding 71 million rubles and paid for by the customer. However, during the inspection, it was found that the contractor did not complete the work paid for under the specified contract in full (for an amount exceeding 1.5 million rubles).
The prosecutor's office sent the materials to the investigative authorities for a criminal legal assessment. Based on the results of their review, a criminal case was initiated under part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud, using one's official position, on a particularly large scale). Its investigation is under the control of the supervisory agency.
