According to preliminary data, a 67-year-old ambulance driver was transporting the patient from a hospital in Yekaterinburg to Serov. He exceeded the speed limit, lost control, veered off the road, and crashed into a streetlight pole.
— As a result of the accident, the 67-year-old patient sustained injuries. Another ambulance that arrived at the scene directed her for further transportation to the hospital, but on the way to the medical facility, she passed away, the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Sverdlovsk region reported.
Traffic police inspectors established that the ambulance driver had not previously been held accountable for violating traffic rules.
