An emergency weather deterioration warning has been issued by the Sverdlovsk rescuers.

The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Sverdlovsk Region issued an emergency warning on Sunday afternoon, May 24, about the deterioration of weather conditions.

"According to meteorologists, in the next 1-3 hours and until the end of the day, heavy rain, hail, and wind gusts up to 25 m/s are expected in some areas of the Sverdlovsk Region," the rescue agency's message states.

Social media is already reporting heavy rain in Sysert, and thunder can be heard in Botanika, writes "Fourth Channel."

During the storm warning, rescuers strongly recommend that residents of Sverdlovsk observe safety measures.

Citizens are advised to avoid going outside during bad weather if possible.

Close windows, doors, and balconies to prevent rain from entering and minimize the risk of damage from wind and hail. Remove flower pots, lightweight items, and furniture from balconies and loggias.

If you find yourself outside during strong winds, avoid open spaces, elevated areas, metal objects, and large trees.

Do not seek shelter under tall trees and advertising billboards—there is a risk of them collapsing. Avoid low-lying areas, including flood-prone territories.

      Car owners are advised:

If possible, refrain from traveling during bad weather. If you are already on the road and strong winds with hail begin—reduce your speed and turn on your hazard lights. Shelter your car in a garage or under a canopy to reduce the risk of damage from hail. Remember that roads will be slippery, and visibility will be reduced due to rain and hail—exercise maximum caution.
