The triathlon will once again take place this summer in the very center of Yekaterinburg.
Over two days in July, Oktyabrskaya Square and the water area of the City Pond will become the venue for the triathlon "Capital of the Urals" - cycling, running, and swimming, reports the Information Portal of Yekaterinburg.
As part of the preparations for the sports festival, the Deputy Head of Yekaterinburg, Konstantin Shevchenko, held a meeting with professional triathlete, Master of Sports of Russia of international class, and participant in the triathlon competitions at the Olympic Games in Beijing (2008) and London (2012), Alexander Bryukhanov.
"We wanted to create a global project and implement it in Yekaterinburg. We hope that many participants and guests will come - not only athletes but also spectators," shared Alexander Bryukhanov. "I hope to arrive early this year and be able to see the local attractions. I want not only to participate in the triathlon but also to immerse myself in the atmosphere of this city."
According to the triathlete, "Yekaterinburg is attractive because of the people who always support you and invite you as a guest."
Konstantin Shevchenko agreed that attracting tourists is important for the administration of Yekaterinburg. Each triathlon participant can bring a support group with them, he explained.
The sporting event will take place in Yekaterinburg on July 25 and 26. Even novice athletes from the age of 2 can participate in the competitions. The organizers offer several distances to choose from - from a children's race of 1 kilometer to the "MIX" format for the most enduring.
