The accident occurred on the evening of May 19 on Furmanov Street. 44-year-old Natalia Shevnina, riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, collided with a Toyota RAV4. According to preliminary data, a lawyer from one of the law firms was behind the wheel of the crossover. As a result of the collision, the woman sustained severe injuries - fractures of the ribs, pelvic bones, and sacrum. In critical condition, she was taken to the intensive care unit of GKB No. 36. However, by the next evening, Natalia's condition sharply deteriorated, and doctors confirmed her death.
Andrey Shevnin learned about the tragedy from his lawyers who visited him in the detention center. The businessman has been in custody since October 2024. As reported by "KP-Yekaterinburg," lawyer Roman Bikbulatov stated that Shevnin was aware of his wife's hospitalization after the accident; however, the law does not allow defendants in detention to leave the facility even in the event of the death of close relatives.
The circumstances of the accident, including the speed of the motorcycle and the actions of the participants in the crash, will be established during investigative examinations. If a criminal case is initiated, the driver of the foreign car could face up to five years in prison.
At the same time, Andrey Shevnin does not admit guilt in the case concerning the murder of the two schoolgirls, for which he is currently in custody. A well-known lawyer in Yekaterinburg has been detained in connection with the bribery of a witness for the other side.
