On June 5, a fatal accident occurred in the village of Yushala in the Tugulymsky district. Around 16:00 on Northern Street, a Mitsubishi Galant car veered off the road, crashed into a light pole and the fence of a private house, and then overturned.
As a result of the accident, a 36-year-old passenger of the car died. The man was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene before medical personnel arrived. The driver also did not use a seatbelt. He was taken to a hospital in Tyumen with injuries of varying severity.
According to the State Traffic Inspectorate, the driver was a 36-year-old local resident who had previously been deprived of his driving license. The man had repeatedly been held accountable for driving without a license and under the influence of alcohol, but he never restored his right to drive a vehicle.
Preliminary investigations have established that before the trip, the driver and passenger consumed alcohol. According to the driver, they were driving to a body of water and were returning when the accident occurred.
The question of conducting a medical examination for intoxication will be resolved after the driver's hospitalization. The issue of initiating a criminal case is being considered.
