In just the first day after the announcement of the competition, nearly 300 people sent in their options, reports the Department of Information Policy of the Sverdlovsk Region. Every third option was proposed by residents of Yekaterinburg. Residents of Nizhny Tagil, Krasnoturinsk, Revda, Pervouralsk, Verkhnyaya Pyshma, Rezh, Sukhoy Log, and Berёзovsky are also actively participating in the naming of Sobolenka. There are suggestions from residents of Tyumen, Chelyabinsk, Orenburg, Moscow, and Novy Urengoy.
Among the most popular suggested names are Malakhitik, Snezhok, Yekatik, Rifei, Demid, Mir, Festik, Miron, Samotsvetik, Danila, and Timosha. A large number of names are related to the region - "Ural," "Uralik," "Uralyonok," "Uralchik."
Let us remind you that the competition for choosing a name for the mascot of the upcoming International Youth Festival, which will take place in Yekaterinburg from September 11 to 17, was announced by Governor Denis Pasler. The mascot has already been presented to the public on the main stage of the festival "Movement." You can submit your option until June 26 on the Information Portal of the Sverdlovsk Region. The final name will be announced by Denis Pasler at the festive events on Youth Day.
