The train station in Yekaterinburg will become an entrance to the theater.
In June, the all-Russian project "Theatrical Train," traveling the route from Vladivostok to Moscow, will visit three cities on the Sverdlovsk Railway. The train will stop in Tyumen on June 12-13, in Yekaterinburg on June 18-19, and in Perm on June 20-21. Each city will host two-day theatrical festivals.
At the train stations in Tyumen, Yekaterinburg, and Perm-2, there will be ceremonial receptions for the train. The railway complexes will temporarily transform into cultural venues: performances will be shown, creative groups will perform vocal and dance numbers, and exhibitions dedicated to theatrical art and theatrical professions will open. Attendance at all events at the stations will be free.
Simultaneously, performances, master classes, and creative meetings will be organized at city venues. The full festival program is available on the official project website.
Along the route, two themed trains are following across the country. The eastern route started on May 12 in Vladivostok and will cover more than 14,300 km through the cities of BAM, Trans-Siberia, Siberia, the Urals, and Central Russia, making 23 stops. The southern route departed on May 27 from Sevastopol and will cover about 6,800 km with 17 stops in the cities of the south and center of the country.
The final destination of both routes will be Moscow. On June 30, the trains will arrive simultaneously at the Kievsky railway station, where a grand festive finale of the project will take place.
All cars of the "Theatrical Train" are decorated in the theme of various areas of performing arts—from drama and musical theater to ballet and puppet theater. The interior space of the trains introduces passengers to the history of the Union of Theater Workers of Russia.
