      On June 12, 2026, a court in Yekaterinburg placed the director of a transportation company under arrest following a fatal traffic accident involving a bus that resulted in the deaths of four people, including a nine-year-old child.

      The Leninsky District Court of Yekaterinburg on June 12, 2026, chose a preventive measure in the form of detention for the director of LLC "AVTO-NOM," born in 1982. He is accused under part 3 of article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation - providing services that do not meet safety requirements, resulting in the accidental death of two or more persons. According to the investigation, on the evening of June 10, the driver of the route bus "PAZ-3204 Vector," while traveling along 8 Marta Street, entered the intersection with Malysheva Street on a red traffic light. The bus collided with a "Lifan" vehicle, after which it drove onto the sidewalk and hit pedestrians. As a result of the accident, four people died, including a nine-year-old boy. The investigation believes that the director of the transportation company intentionally allowed violations of the driver's work and rest regime, which could have affected the safety of transportation. The prosecutor's office supported the investigation's request for arrest, stating that the accused could obstruct the investigation, pressure witnesses, or flee from the investigation and court. The court granted the investigation's request and remanded the man in custody until August 10, 2026.
