In Turin, inspectors stopped an extremely drunk driver of a passenger car.
Traffic inspectors in the Sverdlovsk region stopped a true record holder for "litrobol" on the road during the long holiday weekend. The air he exhaled into the "tube" contained the highest levels of ethanol among all violators detained during these days.
The "champion's" car was stopped by the traffic police on June 13 in Turinsk during a preventive measure. Signs of intoxication were detected in the driver during the check.
An examination using technical equipment conducted on-site showed an astonishing result—1.555 milligrams of ethanol vapor per liter of exhaled air, indicating a deep level of intoxication (approximately 3.0 to 3.5 per mille in blood—note from AI).
"Under the influence of ethanol vapors, the driver's psychomotor reaction speed decreases, coordination of movements is disrupted, and the sense of danger and critical assessment of the road situation is dulled," explained the State Traffic Inspectorate of Russia for the Sverdlovsk region. The man was unable to explain anything. His vehicle was detained and placed in a specialized parking lot.
An administrative protocol has been drawn up against the violator under part 1 of article 12.8 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation (Driving a vehicle while in a state of intoxication).
The administrative materials have already been sent to court. The detainee faces an administrative fine of 45,000 rubles and a driving ban for a period of 1.5 to 2 years.
