In the Sverdlovsk region, another operational and preventive operation "Illegal-2026" has been completed, aimed at identifying and suppressing violations of migration legislation. As a result of the raids, 182 foreign citizens who were in the country illegally were deported beyond the borders of Russia.
According to the press secretary of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Sverdlovsk region, Valery Gorelykh, the operation was conducted on the instructions of the head of the police garrison of the region, Alexander Meshkov. About a thousand law enforcement officers participated in the events, including units dealing with migration issues, criminal investigation, traffic police, the Center for Countering Extremism, transport police, drug control, as well as representatives of the FSB and the prosecutor's office.
During the week, police checked the places of residence and work of foreign citizens, construction sites, trade facilities, service sector enterprises, and transport infrastructure. A total of 953 violations of migration legislation were identified. 620 people were brought to administrative responsibility, and another 228 were punished for providing services to illegal migrants. 97 employers were fined for the illegal use of foreign workers.
The total amount of imposed fines exceeded 4 million rubles, of which 1.5 million rubles have already been collected. In addition, 222 decisions were made to ban entry into Russia. 56 criminal cases have been initiated regarding illegal migration, fictitious registration, and the use of forged documents.
One of the most indicative episodes of the operation was the inspection of the trading and manufacturing company "Flagman" in Yekaterinburg. According to police data, foreign citizens were illegally working in a fish processing workshop and living directly on the premises of the enterprise in unsanitary conditions. As a result, 22 people were brought to administrative responsibility, and 11 were deported from the country. A criminal case has been initiated against the workshop manager, who has been arrested.
Another high-profile case was identified in Tugulyum. Ministry of Internal Affairs employees detained two men transporting a large batch of synthetic drugs. About a kilogram of mephedrone and more than two kilograms of methadone were found hidden in the trunk and under the door trim of the car.
