In anticipation of the move, it has been reported that the Yekaterinburg Spiritual Seminary has risen in the ranking of spiritual schools of the Educational Committee of the Russian Orthodox Church to third place—just behind the capital academies, Moscow and St. Petersburg.
A high assessment has been given to the quality of knowledge of the students and the educational work of the faculty led by the rector, Father Cornelius.
"For me, it is very important that in difficult conditions the seminary team has shown a high result," wrote Metropolitan Yevgeny (Kulberg) of Yekaterinburg and Verkhoturye on his channel in MAX. "Such a result is especially important ahead of a significant stage in the life of the spiritual school: the move to a new spacious and modern building constructed by the UGMK company."
"In the new conditions, I believe we will be able to raise wonderful pastors for our Church," noted the bishop.
Today, Metropolitan Yevgeny announced that Patriarch Kirill awarded UGMK General Director Andrei Kozytsyn the Order of St. Sergius of Radonezh of the first degree.
"God's help to Andrei Anatolyevich! We need more people like him!" emphasized Metropolitan Yevgeny of Yekaterinburg and Verkhoturye.
