In Koltsovo, customs officials did not allow the passenger to take eyeglass frames abroad.
A passenger flying on the "Yekaterinburg - Beijing" flight and passing through the "green" corridor of the customs control zone was stopped by customs inspectors at Koltsovo Airport, the press service of the Ural Customs Administration reported on Friday.
The man entered the "green" corridor with a backpack, which contained 100 pairs of glasses frames.
The passenger explained that he was taking the frames to Beijing for exchange with a supplier and did not know that goods not for personal use must be declared.
Considering the quantity, the range of goods, and the man's own explanations, the customs inspectors recognized the frames as a commercial batch.
An administrative offense case has been initiated under part 1 of article 16.2 of the Administrative Offenses Code of Russia (failure to declare goods). The court may impose a fine ranging from half to double the value of the goods.
