The former director of "Gortrans" was sentenced to 9 years in prison for bribery.
The Lenin District Court of Yekaterinburg sentenced the former CEO of a transportation company, Sergey Nugaev, to 9 years in a strict regime colony. He was found guilty of receiving a large bribe.
In court, it was stated that Nugaev had the right to resolve financial issues and sign payments. In August 2024, his company signed a three-year contract with a contractor for vehicle repairs. The work was carried out properly, but payments for it stopped. Over the six months prior, the contractor accumulated a debt of more than 17 million rubles. In January 2025, Nugaev met with the head of the debtor company and made him an offer: to transfer part of the money towards settling the debt, but to receive 160 thousand rubles of the amount himself. As soon as the contractor received the first 3.6 million rubles in his account, he handed over the agreed amount to the director.
In court, Nugaev denied his guilt. However, the prosecution provided evidence of the bribe being received. The judge sentenced the accused to 9 years in a strict regime colony, a fine of four million rubles, and a five-year ban on holding managerial positions in municipal service. In addition, the entire amount of the bribe received (160 thousand rubles) was recovered from the convicted.
Meanwhile, the criminal case against the head of the counterparty company who handed over the money was closed. The court was lenient with him since the man assisted the investigation, expressed remorse, and contributed to the disclosure of the crime, Ura.Ru clarifies.
