The first modular food unit in the region opened at the hospital in Nizhny Tagil.
A new modular food block, the first in the Sverdlovsk region, has appeared at the City Infectious Disease Hospital in Nizhny Tagil, the regional information policy department reported on Thursday.
"We are currently creating various structural subdivisions in the modules: paramedic and obstetric points, medical outpatient clinics, and reception rooms. We are opening a modular food block for the first time," said Tatiana Savinova, Deputy Governor and Minister of Health of the Sverdlovsk region, at the opening of the food block.
According to her, the modular food block allows for the provision of all necessary dietary tables for patients. It is equipped with combi steamers and purée machines, which is especially important for children's nutrition and for elderly people.
The previous food block was located in a wing of the building that had become dilapidated over decades of service. It has been replaced by a new convenient module that can provide full meals for up to 350 people daily.
The project was implemented with the support of the Governor of the Sverdlovsk region, Denis Pasler, as part of a trilateral agreement previously concluded between the regional government, the city administration, and EVRAZ. The cost of the new facility, including equipment, amounted to about 80 million rubles.
The modernization of the City Infectious Disease Hospital in Nizhny Tagil is ongoing. Currently, builders are renovating the fourth department, and finishing work is already underway.
