Evgeny Starokozhev is the son of Viktor Starokozhev - an infamous businessman from Yekaterinburg, as reported by the media, who manages a large share of the business in managing apartment buildings not only in the Sverdlovsk region but also in the Chelyabinsk region.
The preliminary investigation authorities accuse Starokozhev Jr. under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud on a particularly large scale).
The court granted the investigator's petition, choosing a preventive measure for Evgeny Starokozhev in the form of detention for a period of two months, until September 21, reports the unified press service of the courts of the Sverdlovsk region.
Starokozhev Sr., as reported by 66.RU, is also under investigation for a similar article, but in the Chelyabinsk region. According to investigators, the houses under his management were not maintained by the businessman, and the funds collected from residents (amounting to over one million rubles) were embezzled.
