In Revda, an 18-year-old guy shot a man in "Monetka" after being reprimanded.
On July 24, 2026, a young man shot a man several times with a pneumatic pistol in Revda after the 57-year-old customer asked him to stop using foul language. The incident occurred on July 16 near the "Monetka" store, reported on Friday, July 24, the head of the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Sverdlovsk region, Valery Gorelykh.
A 57-year-old man approached the police station with a statement. He reported that during a conflict that arose in the store on Pavel Zykin Street, 12, an unknown person shot at him several times before fleeing. The victim received medical assistance at the Revda City Hospital. Medics extracted a bullet, applied a bandage, and prescribed outpatient treatment. The man was also diagnosed with contused wounds to the head and chest.
Police officers reviewed surveillance camera footage and identified the suspect. He turned out to be an 18-year-old resident of Revda, who had previously been repeatedly held criminally liable under articles 158 (theft) and 161 (robbery).
Before reaching adulthood, he served time in the Kirovgrad juvenile correctional facility and was later transferred to IK No. 2 in Yekaterinburg. In total, the Revda resident spent one year in places of deprivation of liberty and was released a week before committing the new criminal act.
"The police quickly detained the suspect. He admitted his guilt, repented, and explained that two days before the incident, he purchased a pneumatic pistol of the 'PM-X' brand with a caliber of 4.5 mm and bullets for it in one of the specialized stores in Yekaterinburg. According to him, he bought the weapon 'for fun,'” noted Colonel Gorelykh.
— After the incident, the young man threw the pistol into the bushes in another area of the city. During the conducted activities, police officers discovered and seized the weapon, which has been attached to the materials of the criminal case." The latter was initiated under part 2 of article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (hooliganism).
As established by the police, the suspect, along with an acquaintance, entered the "Monetka" supermarket. An employee of the store, suspecting the young men of intending to commit theft, asked them to leave the store. In response, they behaved aggressively, starting to use foul language.
The victim happened to be a random witness to the events. He entered the store with his family and, hearing the rude remarks, made a comment to the young men. After that, the 18-year-old recidivist pulled a weapon from his pocket and aimed it at the man.
After firing several shots at him inside the store, the hooligan continued shooting outside, despite passersby, including a woman with a stroller.
Currently, a measure of restraint in the form of house arrest has been chosen against him.
