The Central Military District parade in honor of the 90th anniversary of doctor Semyon Spector took place at Shirokaya Rechka in Yekaterinburg.

      The Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Sverdlovsk Region organized a celebration in honor of the 90th anniversary of Semyon Specter, the agency's press service reported on Saturday. Today, July 25, the chairman of the Public Council under the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Sverdlovsk Region, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Hero of Labor of the Russian Federation Semyon Isaakovich Specter (Shlema Itskovich Specter) celebrated his 90th birthday.

      The initiative and organization of the festive event were carried out by the Main Directorate of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Sverdlovsk Region. A ceremonial procession of the honor guard of the Central Military District took place in the yard of the jubilarian's home.

      As the leader of the Public Council under the Sverdlovsk Federal Penitentiary Service, Elena Tishchenko, explained, the idea to hold a parade on Brusnichnaya Street came from Semyon Isaakovich's own modesty.

      "In response to my inquiries about a gift, I received a concise answer: 'Nothing is needed.' So I had the idea: since Semyon Isaakovich could not attend the Victory Parade on May 9 this year, the parade should come to him! The commander of the Central Military District supported this idea," the public figure reported.

      "This gesture has become a symbol of deep respect for a person whose life is an example of service to the Fatherland and to people," emphasized the press service of the Federal Penitentiary Service.

      The jubilarian was congratulated by the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Sverdlovsk Region, Tatyana Merzlyakova. On behalf of the Federal Penitentiary Service, this was done by the deputy head of the regional department, Colonel of the Internal Service Evgeny Ustinov.

      "This date is not just a round number, but a whole universe of years lived, filled with labor, achievements, wisdom, and deep respect from colleagues, friends, and loved ones. May this anniversary become a symbol of a new stage, where your efforts bring even more recognition, and life brings even more joy," he read from the congratulatory address.

      Semyon Isaakovich Specter is a Doctor of Medical Sciences, Honored Doctor of the RSFSR, and an honorary citizen of Yekaterinburg and the Sverdlovsk Region. His name has been given to the Sverdlovsk Hospital for War Veterans. By the decree of the President of Russia dated May 1, 2026, for his special labor merits to the state and the people, Semyon Specter was awarded the title of Hero of Labor of the Russian Federation.
