In Yekaterinburg, a 42-year-old woman will be tried for fraud in obtaining social benefits for a non-existent child. According to the investigation, over ten years, she illegally received more than 1.7 million rubles.
As reported by the prosecutor's office of the Oktyabrsky district of Yekaterinburg, in 2016, the accused provided deliberately false information to the civil registry office about the birth of a child outside a medical institution. Based on this information, she was issued a birth certificate for a boy who actually does not exist.
After that, the woman repeatedly applied for various benefits and social payments. From 2016 to 2026, she received, among other things, a one-time payment for the birth of a child, payments for caring for him, benefits related to the birth and upbringing of children, as well as payments for the birth of a third and subsequent children.
The total amount of illegally obtained funds exceeded 1.7 million rubles. The prosecutor's office has approved the indictment in the case. The woman has been charged under part 4 of Article 159.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation - fraud in obtaining payments on a particularly large scale.
The criminal case has been sent to the Oktyabrsky District Court of Yekaterinburg.
