The time has been announced for which the winners of the "Europe-Asia" marathon in Yekaterinburg completed the distances.
More than 10,000 people from 441 cities and 9 countries participated in the XI International Marathon "Europe-Asia," which, according to the organizers, took place with unprecedented scale in Yekaterinburg last weekend.
At the 3 km distance, 948 people started. The 10 km distance became the most popular, chosen by 2,750 runners. 1,548 participants completed the half marathon (21.1 km). The full marathon distance (42.2 km) was conquered by 597 athletes.
The geography of participants stretched from Kaliningrad to Sakhalin. Among the foreign guests, runners from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Greece, Israel, Kazakhstan, China, France, Japan, and the UAE came to the Ural capital.
The organizers paid special attention to the comfort and safety of the participants: there were hydration stations along the route with water, isotonic drinks, and fruits, watering machines helped cope with the heat, and volunteers and pacers accompanied runners on difficult sections.

The route passed through the historical center of Yekaterinburg - past the Yeltsin Center, the Church on the Blood, the Opera House, the "Iset" Tower, and other iconic places.
Marathon participants noted the special atmosphere on the course, which was filled with support from fans and spectators.
The festive atmosphere was also supported by a rich musical program: the day before the main races, Ural rock hits were played, and in the evening of the first day, the band "Gradusy" performed on stage, gathering about 13,000 spectators.
The marathon was dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the Sverdlovsk Rock Club, so some participants took to the distance in leather jackets. The rock run gathered more than 3,500 participants.
