The appearance of banners featuring Danila Bagrov in Yekaterinburg turned out to be related to the election campaign.
The posters that appeared at the bus stops in the Kirovsky District of Yekaterinburg featuring the main character from the films "Brother" and "Brother-2," Danila Bagrov, turned out to be part of an election campaign. The organizers revealed the second part of the campaign when a poster with an image styled after Mayor Alexey Orlov appeared next to the actor.
Both posters are depicted as if there is a dialogue between the characters. In response to the phrase from the film "Brother-2": "What is strength, brother?" a character resembling Orlov replies with the slogan of "United Russia": "In unity, there is strength, brother!"
— I evaluate the appearance of these posters with restraint, but with understanding—I know the public activists who initiated this; they informed me about it. If people want to support our party and play with its slogan—I cannot condemn it, as long as everything is done carefully and legally, — said Alexey Orlov.
According to the publication EAN, lawyers claim that there are no violations since the posters do not constitute campaigning and contain a stylized image of Orlov, not his photograph.
