A resident of Sverdlovsk died after being caught in a rockfall in Kabardino-Balkaria.

      In the Cherek Gorge of Kabardino-Balkaria, the body of a 69-year-old resident of Sverdlovsk Oblast was discovered. The man was engaged in paragliding and had come to the region with two friends from St. Petersburg. This was reported by the regional office of the Investigative Committee.

      According to preliminary data, the tourists set off into the gorge on August 19. During the ascent to one of the peaks, the group was hit by a rockfall. The Sverdlovsk resident sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. Two of his companions were injured.

      Investigators and criminologists are establishing the circumstances of the tragedy.

      The cause of death of the tourist from Sverdlovsk Oblast in the Dzhily-Su area has been named.
