By September 1, Ural customs officials processed more than 120 tons of flowers.

      In August, customs officials processed almost 122 tons of fresh flowers with a total value of over 70 million rubles. On the eve of Knowledge Day, two trucks arrived, delivering about 20 more tons. Meanwhile, last year, over 190 tons of floral products worth more than 112 million rubles arrived in the Ural region.

      During the summer, nearly 380 tons of floral products worth a total of 213 million rubles were brought into the region of the Ural Customs Administration. The main share of the supplies consists of roses, with over 200 tons brought in. The second place in import volumes is held by carnations—over 53 tons. Chrysanthemums round out the top three—over 40 tons.

      — In 2026, the volume of imported cut flowers decreased by 27% in value and by 18% in weight. I don't think this will affect the number of flowers that children will take to school on September 1. A replacement for imported bouquets has been found among Russian producers, said Rafael Zverev, head of the Ural Customs Administration.

      Flowers are primarily sent to the Urals from Ecuador and the Netherlands. Recently, China has joined them. Earlier in Koltsovo, customs officials stopped a passenger with 18 bottles of perfume.
