      In the SIZO-1 of Yekaterinburg, a 62-year-old inmate named Sergey, accused of murdering a businessman in 1996, took his own life. According to the investigation, in July of that year, Sergey and his accomplice Boris shot the businessmen in the forest to rob them. The body of a man with that surname was discovered on July 28 in the forest near Nizhny Tagil.

      — The accused, acting together with a now-deceased accomplice, planned and committed the murder of a businessman from Severouralsk, whom they previously knew, who was traveling to Yekaterinburg with a large sum of money in his car to purchase goods. The accomplices, waiting for the victim to pass through the territory of the Prigorodny district, stopped his car under the pretext of a check. Subsequently, the suspects committed the murder and stole the money he had, — previously reported by the press service of the Investigative Committee for the Sverdlovsk region.

      Moreover, in November of the same year, Boris shot another businessman. The investigation believes that he was persuaded to get into a car and taken to the forest in Severouralsk. The reason for the arrest after 30 years was the testimony of the ex-wife of the second victim, who previously knew Sergey and was also among the suspects. The new victim was also lured into the car under the pretext in Severouralsk and taken to the forest, after which the 61-year-old suspect, using a firearm, killed the businessman and then stole a large sum of money from the victim. Both suspects were detained with the support of special forces. Boris was in Severouralsk, while Sergey had moved to the city of Sovetsky in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug. According to the publication "KP-Yekaterinburg," since his arrest, Sergey had been in a solitary cell. The exact cause of death will be determined by an examination. Earlier in Yekaterinburg, a young recidivist was detained for attacking his own mother.
